Anna Misztal-Kunecka, DVM – DentalVet – Szczecin, Poland
Species: Dog
Sex: Male
Name: Nero
Breed: Shepherd dog
Age: 4 years
Health condition: Good
Diagnosis
A shepherd dog, Nero, presented at the age of 4 with the fracture of teeth 104 and 204 that had occurred much earlier, when he was about a year old. At that time, an attempt was made to save the teeth and close the root apex through vital pulp amputation (visible on X-ray), but for various reasons this attempt was unsuccessful.
1. Pre-procedure X-ray.
Treatment
Due to the advanced pathology of the teeth and the presence of bone inflammation, a decision was made to extract teeth 104 and 204 (right and left maxillary canine). FlexiOss®Vet bone substitute material was implanted to rebuild bone tissue following the extraction and to prevent the socket from being filled with granulation tissue instead of bone tissue.
2. Post-procedure X-ray.
Treatment results
The sockets healed properly. Visible bone reconstruction at the site of FlexiOss®Vet material implantation.
